Our History

A rich legacy of four decades

Established by the revered Mahatma Gandhi Mission Trust, a pioneer in higher education, research and social development, MGM University, is a Self-financed, State University, approved by the Government of Maharashtra under the MGM University Act 2019. It also has been accorded the 2(f) status by the University Grants Commission (UGC) of India.

MGM University aims to provide value-based, research-driven and experiential education that will transform the youth into professionally competent and socially responsible citizens. A number of MGM's colleges, many of whom share a rich legacy of around 4 decades, have been brought under the auspices of MGM University (MGMU) to provide them with more autonomy, additional resources, unified administrative structure and a host of other facilities. The world class educational facilities, research infrastructure, art studios and sports amenities make MGM University a much loved and sought-after place for higher education for students from across the globe.
